Queen Camilla keeps Prince William in check when he’s ‘disrespectful’

Queen Camilla reportedly keeps Prince William in check with subtle reminders whenever she feels he’s not respecting his father, King Charles, a new book has claimed.

According to royal correspondent and author Robert Jobson, William would sometimes get too big for his britches back when his father was still the Prince of Wales.

In an excerpt from his upcoming book, “Catherine, the Princess of Wales,” obtained by the Mirror, Jobson recalled one particular incident involving William and his wife, Kate Middleton, asking to join Charles and Camilla’s security convoy to leave Windsor Castle.

William’s request did not sit right with Camilla, who along with her husband made the Cambridges wait in what Jobson described as a “subtle” jab.

In an effort to prove a point to William, Jobson claims, Camilla told Charles to leave the pair behind.

“When Charles was kept waiting several minutes for the couple, Camilla insisted they go without them,” Jobson wrote.

“As William and Catherine emerged, all they could see were the blue flashing lights of the motorbikes disappearing in the distance.”

The Post has reached out to Buckingham Palace for comment.

It comes as former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond has noted that Camilla, 77, and William have grown “much closer” in recent months.

“They have been left, almost literally, nursing the crown while the king and the princess recover,” she told OK! magazine.

Buckingham Palace announced in February that the monarch, 75, was diagnosed with a form of cancer. Middleton, 42, revealed her own cancer diagnosis in March.

“Times of adversity often bring people much closer together. For all the progress that has been made in cancer treatment, it is still a scary thing.”

“And while Camilla and William put on a brave face for the world (and no doubt for their spouses, too), there may be times when they confide in one another about how they are dealing with it all,” Bond added.

Elsewhere, Bond said William, 42, and his stepmother became closer after having to endure multiple hardships together, including the death of Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip.

“When the late queen died, William spoke of how [Camilla] had been at his side at ‘the happiest moments’ and ‘saddest days of his life,’ ” Bond added. “Now, Camilla is sharing some of those times with him, and it must surely cement their relationship.”

Camilla’s relationship with Charles’ estranged son, Prince Harry, however, is far from good. In June, royal author Christopher Andersen said that King Charles has been unable to forgive Harry for what he wrote in his bombshell memoir, “Spare.”

“I think people have to realize that the one thing that Charles finds unforgivable is criticism of Camilla,” Andersen, author of “The King: The Life of Charles III,” told Fox News. “There’s no criticism of Camilla. And unfortunately for Harry … Harry said some pretty devastating things about her. He made it clear that he felt she was … the villain in the piece.”

Harry, who moved to Montecito, California, with wife Meghan Markle in 2020 after stepping down as working senior royals, branded Camilla “dangerous” and “the villain.” The father of two, 39, also claimed that his stepmother leaked stories about the royal family to the media to maintain her image and boost her popularity.

Harry wrote: “I have complex feelings about gaining a step-parent who I thought had recently sacrificed me on her personal P.R. altar.”
