Renowned rapper and entrepreneur JAY-Z, whose real name is Shawn Carter, recently shared his thoughts on whether his three children with wife Beyoncé—nine-year-old Blue Ivy and twins Sir and Rumi—will venture into the music business like their superstar parents.

In an exclusive interview with The Weekend Australian, JAY-Z emphasized that he and Beyoncé are not pushing their children towards their own musical and business endeavors. “Feeling loved is the most important thing a child needs, you know? Not ‘Here’s this business that I’m going to hand over to you, that I’m creating for you,’” he stated.

The 51-year-old Grammy winner highlighted their parenting approach, focusing on providing a supportive environment for their children to pursue their own passions and ambitions. “It’s easy for us, as human beings, to want our children to do certain things, but we have no idea. We’re just guides,” JAY-Z added.

The couple, who began dating in the early 2000s and married in 2008, have been known for their private family life and nurturing their children away from the spotlight as much as possible. Despite Blue Ivy’s recent achievement of winning a Grammy Award for Best Music Video as a featured artist on Beyoncé’s “Brown Skin Girl,” JAY-Z reiterated that their priority remains creating a loving and supportive environment rather than grooming their children for specific careers.

Away from discussing their children’s potential futures, JAY-Z also shared personal insights about maintaining fitness goals during the pandemic, emphasizing spending quality time with his family. The couple welcomed Blue Ivy in 2012 and the twins in 2017, cherishing their growing family while keeping a balance between their careers and personal lives.

As they continue to navigate parenthood, JAY-Z and Beyoncé exemplify a commitment to allowing their children the freedom to choose their own paths while providing unwavering support along the way.
