Dallas Cowboys legend Michael Irvin has shared his theory that Mike Tyson was restricted during his fight against Jake Paul last week.Â
Jake Paul, secured a comfortable points victory over boxing legend Mike Tyson at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
The fight turned out as many expected with âIron Mikeâ looking every bit his 58 years of age and only landing 18 punches in the whole of the encounter.
Paul later claimed that he held back against Tyson because he âdidnât wanna hurt someone that didnât need to be hurtâ adding to the the belief that the fight was staged.
However, Irvin claimed it was Tyson that was being forced into holding back due to a clause in the contract.
âI was looking for that patent âone in the body, one on the uppercut.
âWhen he hits that itâs boom boom, boom. I want to see that. But we didnât get that, not a one.â
âAnd I saw someone else say that it was in the contract â âno uppercuts.â They had it in the contract. Come on guys, why wouldnât Mike Tyson throw an uppercut?â
Host of The Herd, Colin Cowherd, agreed and added: It was the killer shot and he didnât throw one.
âJake Paul by about the fifth round had a chance [to knock Tyson out] and I wonder if, after what you said, did Jake Paul say, âListen, I signed a contract. He canât throw an uppercut, so Iâm not gonna humiliate him.â
Irvinâs isnât the only theory floating about with some saying Paul and Tyson shared signals during the fight.
