The Fight Will Be A Unification Bout
The potential match-up is considered long overdue and is deemed crucial now while Lomachenko (18-3, 12 KOs) remains at the peak of his performance. The Ukrainian fighter recently showcased his elite status by easily defeating George Kambosos in his hometown and putting up a strong fight against Devin Haney in their undisputed title clash.

In a recent interview with Fights ATW, the legendary promoter revealed details of his discussions with Lomachenko’s manager, Egis Klimas. The talks took place during a meeting at a restaurant in Beverly Hills, where Arum hinted at the possibility of the highly anticipated Davis vs. Lomachenko bout.

“We discussed Loma. Loma is coming here this week, and we will sit down to discuss what he wants. My feeling is, reading Egis, that it’s a Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis fight. It’s a Vegas fight, either at MGM or T-Mobile Arena. We’d decide on a date based on venue availability.”

In another interview, Arum elaborated on the negotiation process. “Nobody in the Top Rank brass has talked to Al Haymon in over a year,” he stated. “Carl Moretti and the team are dealing with Luis de Cubas.”
