The Princess of Wales sounds “posher” than Prince William due to “several rounds of elocution lessons”, reavealed royal author Omid Scobie.

As well as the lessons, the 42-year-old’s “received pronunciation” is also likely down to her own upbringing and private education.

Reflecting on Kate’s journey into becoming a royal, Mr Scobie remarked on when she met William at the University of St Andrews in 2001. William – who is next in line to the throne – studied Geography, whilst Kate graduated with a degree in Art History.

Prior to her university studies, Kate was a student at St Andrew’s School and Marlborough College.

Describing Kate as an “institutional dream come true”, Mr Scobie suggested in his book Endgame that the mother of three managed to transform herself into an enigma to fit into the role of a royal – and possibly even to herself.

As reported by the Mirror, the Royal Family’s accent is typically associated with the middle and upper classes and those who had private education.

In Endgame, the author added: “Kensington Palace has never denied that Kate had several rounds of elocution lessons as she became more serious with William. Friends have noted over the years that her accent now sounds ‘posher’ and ‘even more plummy’ than her husband’s.”

Scobie – who has been known as Meghan Markle’s ‘mouthpiece’, also branded Kate as “cold” and slammed her for “advocating for mental health causes while ignoring Meghan’s cries for help”.

Speaking of the royal, he even said that she “shivers” whenever Meghan’s name is brought up in conversation. He also claims the pair have not spoken since 2019.

Kate and Wiliam became engaged in November 2010 and tied the knot at Westminster Abbey the following April. They now have three children – Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, 9, and Prince Louis, 6.
