Prince Harry famously described Kate Middleton as “the sister [he] never had and always wanted” in his bombshell memoir Spare, with the pair having quite an enviable relationship once upon a time. And if we are to believe royal author Tom Quinn, he “really misses” their close bond, with Quinn going as far as saying he has a lot of “regrets” about where they have ended up.

Prince Harry’s fractured relationship with his sister-in-law undoubtedly has a lot to do with her own relationship with his wife Meghan Markle, as the pair never seemed to see eye to eye. And Quinn recently hinted that the Duke of Sussex, 39, is “torn” between supporting the Duchess of Sussex, 42, and repairing his bond with the Princess of Wales, 42, once and for all!

Prince Harry Reportedly ‘Misses’ His Relationship With Kate Middleton And ‘Regrets’ Losing Her

“He really misses that warm, uncomplicated relationship, and he is torn between loyalty to his wife and regrets about the loss of the woman he was so close to,” Quinn told The Mirror in an article which was published on April 8th.

“Losing Kate was Harry’s second great loss after losing his mother,” the Gilded Youth A History of Growing Up in the Royal Family: From the Plantagenets to the Cambridges author added, in reference to the late Princess Diana.

Meghan Markle Doesn’t Feel The Same Way

The former Suits actress doesn’t feel the same way as her husband, however, with Quinn going on to explain that she will never forgive the Princess of Wales – who was a fellow outsider before marrying into the royal family – for not supporting her more in the early stages.

“Meghan doesn’t feel guilty about Kate, because she feels that Kate should’ve been the one person in the royal family to back her against every difficulty,” Quinn explained, adding: “Apart from anything else, Meghan knew Kate was an outsider, so she just couldn’t understand why Kate always towed the royal line rather than supporting her, Meghan, the other outsider.”

Quinn went on to reference the Princess of Wales’ cancer diagnosis – which the Duke and Duchess of Sussex did publicly address after her March 22nd video – saying: “Kate’s cancer diagnosis has been a real shock for Meghan, but she can see no way to patch up the relationship simply because it has become so poisonous.”

“She also doesn’t want people saying that she is trying to make things up with Kate just because Kate is ill,” Quinn continued, before saying that Meghan “still feels Kate was in the wrong and should apologize before they try to build bridges.”
