Diddy and Jay-Z share a very special friendship that spans decades but when it comes to recent sex trafficking allegations the rapper is nowhere to be seen or heard.

I’ll Be Missing You could be running through Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ head right now as his best pal Jay-Z remains silent on the star’s recent bombshell allegations.

It has been a stressful few days for the 54-year-old record producers as a string of abuse and rape trials have been followed by a very public and well-reported Homeland Security raid at his homes in Los Angeles and Miami on Monday (March 25) evening.

The dramatic raids were part of an ongoing sex trafficking investigation allegedly linked to Diddy, and many celebrities’ names have been brought up in the leaked docs.

While Jay-Z’s name hasn’t been directly linked to any of the damming allegations his notable friendship with Diddy has.

The Empire State of Mind singer has remained totally silent on the matter, which has left fans scratching their heads due to the pair’s close-knit friendship.

How close are Diddy and Jay-Z?

As far as nicknames go, Diddy and Jay-Z are as close as two friends can be.

The Coming Home singer has been known by many names over the years — Puffy, Puff Daddy, P. Diddy, but the name he rarely goes by, however, is his birth name, Sean Combs.

That’s because only his mom and fellow rapper Jay-Z have the luxury of addressing him as such.

During a stint on James Corden’s Carpool Karaoke, Diddy gave a low down on his many names: “I was born Puffy and then I become P. Diddy,” after The Late Late Show host had asked how he should address him.

“Then they called me Diddy because I was so pretty,” he explained, as he added: “And then Puff Daddy and then I became who I am now, which is Love.”

James then probed him as to why he failed to list Sean among his names, to which Diddy replied: “Sean is typically used by, you know, my mother. I don’t know, when you’re in trouble,” adding that James didn’t get the stamp of “approval” to call him Sean.

The host then asked if there was anybody in the entertainment industry that is allowed to call him Sean and Diddy revealed: “There’s only one person, and I call him Shawn, that’s Jay-Z.”

For those who don’t know, Jay-Z’s real name is Shawn Carter and that is how the two friends address each other.

“We call each other Sean,” he enthused. “Nobody else is allowed to call me Sean. There’s not a single person, outside of my mother, that should be calling me Sean.”
