In an Instagram video titled solely “FRIDAY 😍,” The Kelly Clarkson Show revealed that Coldplay frontman Chris Martin would be stopping by the program to delight fans with his new single “All My Love.”

Clarkson explained that “he was kind enough to let me sing with him,” sharing that she was “very excited to sing harmony with him.” She continued, noting that as a long-time fan, she’s actually “been singing harmony with him for a while.”

In a behind-the-scenes clip of the two doing soundcheck before their performance in front of the show’s audience, Martin quipped that Clarkson is “very good,” which prompted her to double down on what she shared earlier in the video and reveal “I’ve been singing harmony with you since I was in junior high, you just didn’t know it.”

“I didn’t know it, but I felt it,” he said with a smile in return.

Clarkson, who is known for her big vocals, also explained that while she almost always sings lead, she enjoys singing the harmonies in songs as well. “The harmony parts are just more fun!” she said. “It was just a different Kellyoke for me,’” she mused. “It’s nice when it gets changed up. Well, it’s also nice when it’s Chris frickin’ Martin.”
