Al-Hilal captain Salem Al-Dawsari brutally trolled Cristiano Ronaldo after beating his Al-Nassr side 4-1 to win the Saudi Super Cup.

A brace from Aleksandar Mitrovic and goals from Sergej Milinkovic-Savic and Malcom saw Al-Hilal win the final, having initially gone behind when Ronaldo gave Al-Nassr the lead shortly before half-time.

And Al-Dawsari celebrated Al-Hilal’s victory by recreating Lionel Messi’s celebration when he won the 2022 World Cup with Argentina. The 32-year-old bobbed from side as he walked towards his team-mates before lifting the trophy aloft.

It was incredibly similar to what Ronaldo’s long-time rival Messi did after captaining Argentina to victory over France in the 2022 World Cup final. And Ronaldo was absolutely furious after the match, storming off the pitch without collecting his runner-up medal after criticising his team-mates

The 39-year-old is entering his third campaign at Al-Nassr, but has not enjoyed as much success as he would have hoped. Despite scoring 66 goals in 72 appearances across all competitions, Ronaldo is yet to win the league and has only lifted one piece of silverware.

However, his former Manchester United team-mate Rio Ferdinand recently claimed Ronaldo will continue playing for at least another three years. “I can’t give too much away but I’ve been doing a few bits with Cristiano behind the scenes and he’s playing as long as he wants,” Ferdinand revealed on Rio Reacts.

“He ain’t going nowhere. And I was gobsmacked. And listen, you’ll see it in time, but minimum three years I think he plays for again.”

When he does eventually decide to hang up his boots, Ronaldo has been tipped to move into management by another of his former United team-mates. “Cristiano has the ability to be a very successful manager, we’ve seen his energy and his passion,” claimed Louis Saha.

“He’d have the desire of Diego Simeone and the credibility of Zinedine Zidane. That combination as well as all his experience of working under Jose Mourinho, Carlo Ancelotti as well as Sir Alex Ferguson, the knowledge he would bring is crazy.

“It’s not just about football but he represents so much in terms of how you should conduct yourself and go about achieving your goals, he could be a manager, a club president. It’s admirable what he has done, he’s a human being that makes mistakes like anybody but he has never stopped working hard.”
