Anthony Joshua recently gave his opinion about the highly anticipated fight between Mike Tyson and Jake Paul. The fight received several mixed reactions. Most fans have complained about the age difference between the competitors. A fighter in his fifties competing in combat sports remains a cause for concern.

Fans expressed concern for Tyson’s well-being. Some like Tyson Fury did appreciate the fight and did not see any problem with it. Simultaneously, Joshua’s reactions are a mix of both concern and appreciation. He did not condemn the fight but hoped Tyson to come out healthy without any major health implications.

Tyson is older now; I pray that he comes out healthy. I think Jake Paul wins because of his youth; that's the only thing. I personally think it's really good.

AJ has previously mentioned Mike Tyson as one of his favorite boxers. As such, he has grown up idolizing the legendary welterweight champion. However, Joshua thought Paul would emerge victorious because of his youth. Joshua’s prediction aligned with some of the major fan predictions for the bout.

In addition, Anthony Joshua stated that this fight and influencer boxing are good for the sport. Furthermore, AJ reflected on how hard-core boxing fans appreciate did not appreciate these influncer/celebrity fights. However, Joshua did not see it that and only saw it as a potential evolution of boxing.

Anthony Joshua speaks about his retirement

The two-time heavyweight champion has had quite an illustrious boxing career. AJ has gained access both in the Olympics and in the professional boxing world. Subsequently, Joshua is months away from becoming 35-years-old. AJ had once stated that he would retire at 35 especially since he has amassed a fortune.

As such, he spoke about this and mentioned that he planned on retiring after two years when he was 37 years old. Moreover, it is only guaranteed provided his body does not deteriorate till he turns 37. His initial plans for retirement might have been cut short after his devastating losses again, Oleksandr Usyk.

However, AJ has now bounced back after his consecutive impressive knockout victories in his last few fights. In addition, Joshua is now patiently waiting for his chance to fight the next undisputed heavyweight champion after the Tyson Fury vs. Usyk fight. Joshua might decide to avenge the losses against Usyk since there is a possibility of them facing off against each other. Moreover, he intends to hold the heavyweight title once again before retiring.
