David Benavidez has publicly apologized after a ‘drunk’ incident. This happened after a live TV interview that Benavidez did under alcohol intoxication. The ‘Mexican Monster’ arrived in person in Las Vegas to witness the DAZN event between Diego Pacheco and Shawn McCalman. While the fight was happening, a correspondent from DAZN sat down with Benavidez for an interview.
The correspondent asked Benavidez about his thoughts about the fight. The ‘Mexican Monster’ responded sluggishly, and no one understood what he spoke. However, Benavidez passionately gave his take on the fight while being immensely drunk. The clip from the event went viral, and it was obvious that Benavidez was not in his senses. He issued an apology after this.

David Benavidez woke up the next day probably hangover and really understood the embarrassing situation of the previous day. He must have also noticed that clips of his drunken interview have been going viral on social media. As such, he apologized to his fans and the people who had to witness him in that state.
Furthermore, Benavidez was so ashamed of himself that he also announced that this would never happen again. Many would question Benavidez’s commitment to drinking ahead of his debut in the light heavyweight division. If he can get past Oleksandr Gvozdyk, he will face the winner of Artur Beterbiev and Dmitry Bivol. The future looks too bright for someone like Benavidez to have a drunk moment.

Canelo Alvarez’s drunken moment resurfaces
Whenever Benavidez is mentioned, Canelo Alvarez is also somehow instantly brought up in the boxing world. This is mostly because of their highly anticipated fight, which fans have demanded for years. As such, this rivalry has now stemmed beyond their fight since the drunk video of David Benavidez caused Alvarez’s drunk video to emerge.
