It seems like only yesterday that Angelina Jolie adopted a tiny Zahara Jolie-Pitt from an Ethiopian orphanage. She was just six months old, and according to published reports at the time, thin and suffering from dehydration when the actress took custody.

But time travels quickly, and it probably won’t be long until Zahara towers above her mum, judging by the latest pictures.

Now 14 years old, the healthy and happy teen was pictured enjoying a day out shopping at the Century City Westfield in LA.

The actress told BBC Radio 4 Today that her family retains strong connections to their various countries of origin, including Zahara.

Zahara Jolie-Pitt Is All Grown Up

‘I think my children have learned the most about these issues simply from each other, from experiencing each other,’ she said. ‘They are from different backgrounds, they don’t deny the difference—they celebrate the difference.

‘We go to their countries, spend time in their countries, but also they’re American, they’re American Ethiopian, they’re American Cambodian, so they have their countries and that’s a piece of who they are.’
