America’s Got Talent judges & audience wear underwear on their heads for audition – but fans slam ‘dumb’ reason for act

During Tuesday night’s auditions of America’s Got Talent, Australian native Nick Manning attempted to break a Guinness World Record.

His initial attempt was to have the “most underpants pulled on in 30 seconds,” but failed to break the record.

AGT’s host, Terry Crews, recommended they’d be able to break another record.

The attempt was to get most of the people in the Pasadena Civic Auditorium to wear a pair of underwear on their heads for one minute.

The audience chanted for judge Simon Cowell to wear it, to which he put the underwear on his head while peaking through one of the leg holes.

Howie Mandel also put the underwear on his head.

Sofia Vergara and Heidi Klum opted out of putting the undergarments entirely on their head.

Instead, the two folded the underwear and placed it atop their scalps.

As most of the audience members followed in the judges’ league, a Guinness Book of World Records adjudicator was there to verify the attempt.

According to the adjudicator, 1,206 people wore underwear on their heads, beating the 355 previous record.

UNIMPRESSED FANS

While many participated in breaking a new record, fans watching were not impressed.

Viewers took to social media to give their thoughts on the record-breaking act.

“That was so dumb,” said one fan on Instagram.

“This was stupid. Waste of time letting these kinds of ‘acts’ on the show,” wrote another.

“What a shame!! There’s people with so much talent out there hoping for an opportunity and in the auditions, and we are–judges and audience–wasting our time watching this stupid thing!!!” said a third.

In addition to the fans, the judges were also not easily swayed by the acts.

“I didn’t feel that it was very difficult to break that record, if I’m being honest with you,” said Simon.

America’s Got Talent judges

THOUSANDS of hopefuls have graced the America’s Got Talent stage to showcase their abilities.

Here is some more information about the A-list judges.

Simon Cowell – On October 22, 2015, it was revealed Simon was replacing Howard Stern on the AGT judges panel. He became a judge during the program’s 11th season and has since remained a series regular.

Heidi Klum – In March 2013, Heidi was announced as Sharon Osbourne’s replacement on AGT. After a few seasons off, she returned during Season 15.

Sofia Vergara – On February 27, 2020, NBC revealed Sofia was replacing Gabrielle Union for AGT season 15.

Howie Mandel – Out of all the panelists, Howie Mandel is the longest-tenured judge on America’s Got Talent. Howie joined the hit reality series during the show’s 5th season replacing David Hasselhoff.

Keidi agreed, saying, “We definitely have not had an act quite like this before, but I feel like for all of us to put underwear on our heads is not a talent.”

Ultimately, Nick was sent home.

BLAND SEASON

Nick’s audition isn’t the first time fans were bored by the show’s auditions.

Earlier in the month, viewers were frustrated with some of the acts that were shown on the show.

Some of the acts included an audition of a woman dressed in a tiger onesie who told a few jokes.

Another was of a man singing while dressed in an owl costume.

Fans took to X to share their thoughts, saying, “This season sucks.”

They continued, “The good acts are bad and the bad acts aren’t even funny bad it’s just sad bad.”
