Rihanna’s father Ronald Fenty is ‘over the moon’ after learning of his daughter’s pregnancy.

Fenty, 68, admitted he was ‘ecstatic’ after the 33-year-old singer unveiled her growing baby bump with her partner A$AP Rocky on Monday during a snowy stroll through New York City.

‘I’m so happy that I jumped for joy. I’m still so excited,’ Fenty continued in an interview with Page Six later in the day.

‘Rihanna always said that she wanted children, she loves kids. She always takes care of her cousins’ kids…she’s going to be a good mom,’ her father said.

The celebrity father, who spoke via phone from his home in Barbados, said he found Rocky to be ‘a very cool guy’ after the two got a chance to meet when his daughter brought the rapper home in December 2020.

‘I like him,’ he added, before revealing that he got the news of Rihanna’s pregnancy a day before she and Rocky (born Rakim Mayers) went public with her burgeoning tummy.

‘I just got the news from her last night, and she sent me some photos,’ he said. ‘I’m just over the moon. She’s beautiful inside and out.’

His warm words belied the fact that Ronald and Rihanna have publicly feuded in the past over business matters.

In 2019, she sued her father for using their last name for his company Fenty Entertainment. In the suit, she accused him and his business partner of representing themselves as her agents.

She withdrew her lawsuit in September, and it’s believed that the two came to a settlement.

Ronald’s relationship with family was also strained in the past due to his addictions to alcohol and drugs, and she previously claimed that he had been violent toward her and her mother in the past.

That seems to be water under the bridge for him and his daughter now.

Also on Monday, a source close to the We Found Love singer shared with People that she ‘couldn’t be happier’ about her pregnancy.

‘Having a baby is something she was never focused on, but being with Rocky opened her up to the idea. She couldn’t be happier and is so excited to be a mom,’ the source claimed

‘She’s loving all the changes to her body during pregnancy and has always celebrated pregnant women in her runway shows for Fenty.’

But they added that her fiercely independent spirit meant that she would handle her pregnancy ‘her own way on her own time table.’

‘They’re just like any other pair of parents-to-be,’ the source added of Rihanna and Rocky. ‘Yes, they happen to be famous but they’re just the cutest, giddiest young couple that’s expecting kids.’

The rapper’s ‘doting’ nature appears to have helped him win over the cosmetics and lingerie mogul.

‘A lot of guys have tried to sweep her off her feet, but Rocky actually managed to do it,’ the insider said. ‘He’s over-the-top romantic and sends her rooms full of flowers all the time. She’s never felt this way before and this relationship has changed her.’
