Four-time Formula One world champion Alain Prost has conveyed his thoughts on the incident involving Red Bull’s Max Verstappen and McLaren’s Lando Norris. They collided with each other during the closing stages of the Austrian Grand Prix, which ended any hopes for either of them to win.
The two drivers, though close friends, there have been some aggressive battles between the two for the better part of the season for wins and podiums. Taking into observation their most recent tussle at Spielberg, Formula One legend Alain Prost has shared his take on the matter, deeming the crash a racing incident.
Prost has claimed that the incident between the Max Verstappen and Lando Norris was not an intentional one by any means, even though in the later part of his talks he has landed Verstappen as the one responsible for the crash. Several discussions and talks have since been held between both teams, but a conclusive idea of who was at fault is still a question that remains highly debatable.
I don't think there was an aggressor and a victim. The crash was complex. I agree with the verdict that Max was primarily responsible. He was penalised, although I think it was primarily an unfortunate racing incident. Verstappen swerved slightly to the left, but I don't think it was intentional.

We've been one of the quickest cars at basically everywhere we've gone. So I think with the amount of data and evidence we've had already, I think we can be confident we'll be good everywhere.Oscar Piastri said.
McLaren has consistently been at the top of their game this season, challenging Red Bull and Ferrari in the title race since their race win at the Miami Grand Prix. The Woking-based English team is currently one of the only sides on the grid to have good points. The brilliance of Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri has been a major reason in it.
Despite the blunder during a crucial stint at Silverstone, which cost them the win, the team’s believes they can bounce back in the upcoming races. There will be some stern test for McLaren in their ambitious chase of constructors title against Red Bull.
