Royal fans have compared a photograph released for Father’s Day of Prince William and his three children to an image of Diana and her two sons.

In the picture with Diana, she can be seen smiling as a young Prince William – aged five – has his arms wrapped around her neck while beaming.

Prince Harry, who was around three at the time, is sat next to his mother, as she has her arm around him the young royal.

The Princes are both dressed smartly – wearing blue shirts and ties – while Diana is dressed in a white blouse.

The image was taken at Highgrove House, Gloucestershire, in 1988, when Diana would have been around 27 years old.

Prince Louis has also been likened to his mother, the Princess of Wales, as fans spoke about a picture taken for his fifth birthday in April.

The Prince of Wales has his arm around his eldest child, Prince George, nine, similar to how Diana was positioned with Harry.

In the adorable family snap, Princess Charlotte, eight, is all smiles as she gazes up at her father.

They have even opted for the same colour scheme, as the Wales’s donned blue and white clothing.

The family have also given a nod to the late Queen, as they are sat on a bench installed at Windsor to commemorate her 90th birthday on April 19, 2016.

A user on Twitter captioned the two images ‘Prince William clinging lovingly to his mother. Over 30 years later, he gets to experience what it felt like for Diana as well.’

The Tweet was viewed almost 50,000 times and was liked more than 3,500 people – with royal fans commenting on the likeness.

One wrote: ‘It’s so good witnessing William’s reverence for his mom. So gallant. Fun seeing Diana in him more each day!’

Another said: ‘William is Diana’s double. She would be so proud of him.’

A third penned: ‘My favourite post of the day!’

A fourth commented: ‘ Oh my goodness this is a great find! And soooo sweet! Thanks!’

The family were out for Trooping the Colour yesterday, as Prince Louis ‘stole the show’ again with his cheeky antics.

He pulled faces at his siblings and grumpily covered his ears while celebrating the annual event – at one point covering his nose making it appear as though he’d smelt something unpleasant.

In one moment, the youngest Wales child covered his nose and mouth in what is thought to be disgust, after he caught a whiff of horse poo.

Louis is a favourite among royal watchers thanks to his enthusiasm during public appearances.

The three children then joined their parents and the rest of their family on the Buckingham Palace balcony to watch the iconic flypast.

Standing beside his two younger siblings, George was filmed pointing up to the sky before saying something to his parents.

While the audio isn’t clear, some believe that George is identifying a plane, to which the proud Prince of Wales appears to say ‘yes it is, good boy!’
