Kate Middleton may be known for flying the flag for British brands – but her daughter Charlotte’s wardrobe is already proving to be a little more international.
In the latest photograph the Prince and Princess of Wales shared of their family today for their Christmas card, the eight-year-old wore an adorable blue denim playsuit embroidered with strawberries and red pom-poms, believed to have cost £17 from Spanish brand Sfera.
However it’s far from the first time that Kate has dressed her daughter in a label from the European country, with Charlotte regularly stepping out in Spanish brands over the years.
It is believed to be the influence of the family’s nanny, Maria Teresa Turrion Borrallo, who has worked with the family since 2014 and hails from Palencia, in northern Spain.

Kate Middleton may be known for flying the flag for British brands – but her daughter Charlotte’s wardrobe is already proving to be a little more international, with the eight-year-old regularly dressed in Spanish designers
As she left hospital in her first ever public appearance in 2015, Princess Charlotte melted countless hearts in the very traditional knitted baby bonnet.
Not even a day old, she was already sparking trends as mothers rushed to locate similarly home-spun clothes for their own little bundles of joy.
In fact, the bonnet was a charming and very thoughtful gift from the mother of the Duchess of Cambridge’s live-in Spanish nanny, Maria Teresa Turrion Borrello.
Widow Maria Teresa Borrallo sourced the present from an exclusive children’s boutique called Irulea in San Sebastian, northern Spain.

For her first ever Trooping the Colour, Kate opted to dress Charlotte in socks from Condor, a Spanish brand that was founded in 1898 near Barcelona
It is understood she told the store owners that she had read about their beautiful clothes and asked for several pictures to be sent to her, before going to the shop personally to make her final choices.
In the end she ordered several pieces – including a coat, shoes, pram cover and mattress – all in a neutral ivory colour in ages 0-3 and 3-6 months and arranged for them to be sent to London just a month and a half ago.
Susana Villar, 57, who owns the 82-year-old city centre clothes shop with her sister Ayago, said at the time: ‘We had no idea the clothes were for Princess Charlotte. It was a complete surprise and we’re obviously delighted.
‘Some clients of ours phoned us to tell us they’d just seen the new royal leaving hospital wearing one of our bonnets.’

Over the past eight years, Charlotte has regularly been dressed in socks and shoes from different Spanish brands (pictured, in Charles’ 70th birthday portrait)
She continued: ‘It was bought as part a matching outfit that included a little coat and shoes but it was impossible to tell if she had them on as they were covered up by the blanket wrapped over her.’
Six months later, and Kate released two more snaps of her daughter – and she was once again, dressed in a different Spanish brand.
Charlotte was dressed in a little £21 floral piece from the Spanish boutique m&h.
In fact, the label said it has been inundated with requests for the £21 dress after it was identified byHELLO! Online but that it only has ’10 metres’ left.
The dress is thought to have been a gift from Princess Charlotte and Prince George’s Spanish nanny, Maria Teresa Turrion Borrallo.

HELLO! believes that Miss Borrallo snapped up the floral pink design in the children boutique’s Valladolid branch, one of five in the country.
The brand’s website explains that it offers its customers ‘classic and tasteful clothes at a very affordable price.’
The brand maintain that it’s the finish of their garments – the pattern, the quality of fabrics and prints – that really define their style.
The little royal was also dressed in the same Spanish brand when she was photographed sitting on the Queen’s lap for a portrait by Annie Lebowitz in 2016 and in her first birthday portraits.
