Jake Paul has belittled Mike Perry by labelling him an “appetiser” for his Mike Tyson mega-fight.
Paul was scheduled to fight Tyson on July 20 but the controversial bout has been pushed back to November 15 after ‘Iron Mike’ suffered a stomach ulcer flare-up last month. The YouTuber-turned-boxer will fight former UFC star Perry next month as he wants to stay active before facing ‘Iron Mike’.
Perry has just one professional boxing win under his belt but is unbeaten in five bare-knuckle boxing fights. Paul recognises that he is taking a big risk by fighting Perry but thinks he will KO his rival in less than 10 minutes. “What is there to be scared of? You’re just a Mike appetiser, before the main course comes out,” Paul told Perry on The MMA Hour.

“You’re like a little Mike mozzarella stick just get you right before the main course. Mike Tyson, November 15th, but July 20th I’m going to show you who your dad is, that’s for sure.” Paul looks to record his 10th professional boxing win against Perry, who sparred the influencer before his fight against Ben Askren three years ago.
“My official prediction for the fight, three rounds or less. I’m calling it now, these guys can’t hang with me. Nobody has been able to see my skill for the past year, I’ve had new coaches and my development has been amazing. I’m excited to put on a performance and get this knockout.”
Perry fought in the UFC for five years but failed to reach world title contention in the promotion. The 32-year-old has since become a breakout star for bare-knuckle promotion BKFC and even faced off with Conor McGregor in the ring last year. Paul praised Perry for his toughness and admitted he finds him entertaining.
“Why not gain more experience against another notorious known killer? Mike Perry the bare-knuckle legend, the man that can’t be knocked out, the vicious and violent brawler. This guy is a f****ng lunatic, he’s undefeated in bare-knuckle which is probably the craziest sport in the world,” he added.
