Mike Perry quoted Conor McGregor ‘s iconic “panty night” phrase ahead of his Jake Paul fight.
Former UFC star Perry will fight Paul on July 20 after the social media sensation’s original opponent Mike Tyson pulled out because of a stomach ulcer flare-up. Perry, a bare-knuckle boxing champion, has a history with Paul as he sparred the influencer before his KO win against Ben Askren three years ago.
UFC legend McGregor left fans in hysterics whilst trash-talking bitter rival Rafael dos Anjos before their ill-fated fight in 2017. “When you sign to fight me it’s a celebration, you ring back home and you ring your wife. ‘Baby we done it, we’re rich baby. Break out the red panties.’ I’m the money fight at every division,” McGregor said.

Perry thinks he is the bigger side in his fight against Paul despite the influencer’s online fame. “It’s the ‘Platinum panty night’ I am the money fight. I’ve been saying this, my wife has got a drawer full of them platinum panties if you will and we wear them every weekend,” he told Morning Kombat.
Paul’s fight against Tyson has been rescheduled for November 15 but he will need to get past Perry before thinking about ‘Iron Mike’. The influencer has admitted he is taking a big risk by potentially jeopardising his fight against Tyson by facing Perry and the former UFC star plans to treat himself after the fight.
“When I beat him, we can ask for a rematch if he wants it. I don’t know if he will or where he goes after this. I couldn’t care less, I might just go on a little vacation after this. I’ve been fighting and winning so I might go spend some of this money with my family but I don’t know if it’s quiet enough yet,” Perry added.
“I might have some more work to do before the year ends. I won’t have that multi-millionaire mansion on the bay with my yacht dock in the back. I need something to compete with that Lamborghini yacht that McGregor’s whipping around in. Shoutout to McGregor, he liked a couple of my Reels so I appreciate that.”
