Mike Tyson stunned Logan Paul by pulling out a bag of magic mushrooms during an appearance on his podcast.

The 58-year-old is currently gearing up to take on Jake Paul in an eight-round boxing match on November 14, and appeared on his brother Logan’s Impaulsive podcast earlier this week.

Logan first asked Tyson if he has decreased his cannabis intake ahead of his first return to the ring since taking on Roy Jones Jr in an exhibition back in November 2020.

Tyson replied, ‘just a little,’ before Paul’s co-host asked the former undisputed heavyweight king about his recreational use of psilocybin mushrooms.

Without skipping a beat Tyson proceeded to pull a bag of the substance out of his back pocket, prompting Maljak to ask whether he had ingested any today.

‘I have to take them when I train, I always train with my mushrooms,’ Tyson said.

‘I train with mushrooms. I feel so beautiful, it takes me to heaven, baby.’

Asked whether he will continue taking the drug — categorised as Class A in the UK and illegal to buy, sell or own — up until the date of the fight Tyson clarified.

He said: ‘If I’m not on mushrooms I’ll be on… residue of mushrooms. I won’t be on mushrooms I’ll be on residue of mushrooms.’

The clash with Jake has drawn significant criticism, particularly after Tyson was forced to pull out of the originally scheduled date after suffering a medical emergency on a plane.

The event will be officially sanctioned by Texas Department of Licensing and Regulations as a professional bout, making the first for Tyson since he was defeated by Kevin McBride in 2005 before hanging up his gloves.

Unlike most professional bouts however, both fighters will wear 14oz gloves and the clash will contested over two-minute rather than the standard three-minute rounds.

In a press conference for the event earlier this week Paul claimed it was Tyson that had requested the rule changes ahead of the event.

‘You’re the one that wanted eight, two-minute rounds,’ the 27-year-old said.
