Oleksandr Usyk has been targeted by counterfeiters just a week on from his stunning victory over Tyson Fury.

Usyk narrowly outpointed Fury to become the undisputed world heavyweight champion.

His brilliant victory saw him capture the WBC title, adding to his WBA (super), IBF and WBO belts.

Amid the official announcement of their rematch, the Ukrainian has been hit by a scam, with fraudsters faking his official ‘Ready to Fight’ merchandise store on Instagram.

The fake social media account has copied the appearance of the authentic page.

The boxer’s legitimate account called out the counterfeiters, writing: “We want to protect you from fraud; this account is the ONLY official place to buy RTF STORE merch. Please be cautious and don’t trust scammers!”

The real ‘Ready to Fight’ store has just one underscore on its Instagram handle. The fake account, on the other hand, has the same handle but with two underscores.

Usyk, meanwhile, has a date locked in for his blockbuster rematch with Fury.

They will run it back on December 21 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

On X, boxing chief Turki Alalshikh wrote: “The rematch between the Undisputed Champion Oleksandr Usyk and the Champion Tyson Fury is now scheduled on the 21 of December 2024 during Riyadh Season…The world will watch another historical fight again… Our commitment to boxing fans continues… We hope you enjoy it…”

But their second meeting won’t be an undisputed showdown as the IBF are set to strip Usyk of their title.

So, the WBA (super), IBF and WBO belts will be on the line when the 37-year-old renews his rivalry with the self-proclaimed ‘Gypsy King’.

Usyk will also look to keep his perfect pro record intact, having inflicted the previously undefeated Brit with the first loss of his pro career.
