SunSport’s boxing pundit Wally Downes Jr sums up one of the most boring and forgettable nights in boxing history. And he doesn’t hold back when it comes to his scathing assessment of social media star Jake Paul.

Round One
Paul says “I love you, Mike” just before the opening bell. He quickly runs away and hugs the boxing legend. Tyson gets the crowd going wild as he lands a straight punch and a powerful right hand.

Verdict: 10-9 Tyson

Round Two
Paul ran away in the opening and held his own – just as we thought. Tommy Fury was first and now Mike Tyson. That’s smart because Tyson will be tired. Paul hits Tyson with a straight right. Tyson looks exhausted. The fight has been going on for 180 seconds and it looks like it’s over.
Verdict: 10-9 Tyson
Round Three
The legend doesn’t even keep his mouth guard on. As expected, this is a waste of time. Paul runs away until the 58-year-old is tired. Shooting ducks in a barrel now. Tyson could get hurt here. Paul lands a few awkward shots and Tyson stumbles back.
Tragic after three rounds.
Verdict: 10-9 Paul

Round Four

This is garbage. The crowd is bored and booing. It’s just two big guys fighting. One is a legend, one is a promoter.
Verdict: 10-9 Paul
Round Five
Paul jabs hard to the body and goes straight for the head, another to the icon. Tyson can’t hold on to the mouthpiece, he’s gasping for air. Paul throws a left hook but Tyson does the same.
Verdict: 10-9 Paul
Round Six
Thank God these aren’t three-minute rounds. We’re getting about four punches a round. Tyson is gasping for air but replays show the left hook grazed Paul’s beard.
Verdict: 10-9 Paul
Round SevenTyson misses a punch and tries a hook. The commentator admits it was a “sad” sight. AT&T Stadium is completely destroyed. Paul looks as tired as Tyson. Verdict 10-9 Paul
Round Eight
Go back to YouTube, Jake. You’re a great cheater. But you’ve never been a boxer. The judges’ verdict: 80-72, 79-73, 79-73. I’m glad Tyson got paid and is safe.
