Oscar Piastri sent a video message to his supporters on Monday evening, little more than 24 hours after winning the first Grand Prix of his F1 career.
The 23-year-old took the chequered flag in Hungary after McLaren team-mate Lando Norris reluctantly followed orders by allowing him to pass late in the race.
Piastri had earlier led for more than half of the contest, having overtaken Norris inside the opening lap.
Despite the controversy surrounding his win, Piastri was visibly thrilled to have finished on the top of the podium for the first time.
After having some time to allow his achievement to sink in, Piastri took to social media to post a video that he captioned: ‘Trying to put it all into words.. better at driving than talking’.
