Lewis Hamilton claimed his first race victory since 2021 as the Mercedes star triumphed on a home track at Silverstone.
The 39-year-old finished 1.465 seconds ahead of Max Verstappen to claim his record-extending ninth victory at the British Grand Prix.
Despite the less-than seasonal conditions, 480,000 fans watched on in delight in Northamptonshire as the rain poured down.
In addition to the exhilarating action on the track, a host of recognisable stars from sport and the screen could be seen among the audience at the home of British motor racing.

Brit hits fueled by roasts?
Asked why British drivers are so good following the qualifying clean sweep, Lewis Hamilton joked the secret was ‘roast dinners’.
Hamilton said after his incredible victory that he had just a ‘normal’ dinner on Saturday evening, but was planning on a celebratory curry last night.

Sixty-thousand unhappy campers
Spare a thought for the 60,000 campers who descended on Silverstone this weekend dreaming of a summer night under the stars and were instead given a royally good soaking as the fields they called home for the week soon became a quagmire.
George stumped by ticket ploy
A nice touch by Mercedes to leave ‘silver tickets’ under the seats of 20 fans in the grandstand.
It was left to George Russell to reveal that news, but he was none the wiser as to what the prize was, joking: ‘The winner is my team-mate next year’. Lewis Hamilton stood only a few metres away.
Brundle given walk of shame by May
Poor old Martin Brundle. It was the turn of Queen guitarist Brian May to decline Brundle’s advances this year.
There was no shortage of stars on the grid with Sir Mo Farah and Owen Farrell, Hollywood A-Listers Brad Pitt, Michael Douglas and wife Catherine Zeta-Jones, plus Jeremy Clarkson.

Broad jests with old Ashes foe
