After a massive upset during their first encounter, the pair will lock horns again in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, as Fury looks for revenge.

Speaking via X, his Excellency Turki Alalshikh confirmed a date for the rematch that will take place later this year.

“The rematch between the Undisputed Champion Oleksandr Usyk and the Champion Tyson Fury is now scheduled on the 21 of December 2024 during Riyadh Season…The world will watch another historical fight again…Our commitment to boxing fans continues…We hope you enjoy it,” he wrote.

Usyk’s split decision victory in Saudi Arabia meant he became the first undisputed heavyweight champion since 1999 when Lennox Lewis beat Evander Holyfield.

The Ukrainian extended his 100% record to 22-0, while Fury suffered his first-ever defeat as a professional.

Despite still getting the victory, fans were furious with the judge who scored the fight in favour of Fury, claiming the result should have been a clear unanimous decision for Usyk.

With the date for the rematch now set in stone, reports have now confirmed the prize money the pair will be splitting for their second encounter.

Fury is understood to have banked around £85m for the first fight, while Usyk was rumoured to take home considerably less with a purse close to £30m.

Due to the huge success of the first fight, the prize pool is set to significantly increase for December 21st, with the two men expected to split a huge £150m between them.

As Usyk now holds all the belts he is expected to command the lion’s share of the rematch’s earnings.

The Ukrainian has now defeated both of Britain’s heavyweight contenders, as he had already got the better of Anthony Joshua on two occasions prior to his bout with Fury.
