Fury’s promoters Frank Warren and Bob Arum are in discussions with the Ukrainian for a potential championship unification match.

Tyson Fury’s return to the ring could come in the form of a huge unification fight with Oleksandr Usyk – that’s if his promoter’s comments are anything to go off.

Fury’s co-promoter Frank Warren has claimed the retired boxer has ‘itchy feet’ and is hungry for another fight.

The Brit announced he was calling it quits on an illustrious career after successfully knocking out Dillian Whyte at Wembley to defend his WBC heavyweight title.

He’s remained insistent that he won’t be returning to the ring, however, a potential unification bout with Oleksandr Usyk or Anthony Joshua could be enough to sway his mind.

Usyk is set to take on Joshua on August 20 in Saudi Arabia with the WBA Super, IBF, WBO, and IBO heavyweight titles on the line.

Warren claims Fury is keeping a close eye on the matchup as he isn’t completely ready to close the boxing chapter of his life

Speaking to talkSPORT, he said: “He’s got itchy feet at the moment, he wants to fight.

“I think what’s going to happen is, see what happens on [August] 20th and the outcome of that and that’ll determine what he intends to do in the future.

“My opinion, this is not from him, it’s from me. I think he will [return] because he’s a fighting man and he misses it. That’s what he does, he wants to fight.”

A matchup against Usyk seems to be the preferred fight for the Fury camp as well with the undefeated boxer’s other promotor Bob Arum revealing last week that there had already been discussions with the Ukrainian’s camp.

He told Barbershop Conversations: “I’m hoping Usyk wins because I’ve talked with his people and I think they would be anxious to fight Tyson Fury and I would hope to do that fight in December, maybe, or early next year.”

In fact, Fury himself has already admitted he’d come out of retirement to face Usyk should he defeat Joshua.

Fury claimed he would be willing to help train Joshua for the fight, an offer that has been rejected by the challenger.

“I’d train him to beat Usyk very easy, but he doesn’t want my help because I would definitely train him to win and he obviously don’t wanna win,” Fury told talkSPORT.

“I wouldn’t tell you [the game plan] because that’s giving the secrets away. But probably you’ll see what I’ll do.

“Because when this little middleweight batters the bodybuilder again, he’s gonna lose again, then they’re gonna call for Achilles to come out.

“They will call and groan for Achilles to come back. And I’m gonna say, ‘Get f***ed, I’m retired, I don’t wanna fight.’

“And then, when they’re begging me to come out of retirement, I will return, but it’s gonna be very costly, like I said.

“And I’ll show you how to deal with a middleweight.”
