Country superstar Kane Brown made waves at the North Dakota State Fair on Saturday (July 31) when he pulled a 6-year-old fan named Taya up on stage to sing chart-topping single, “What Ifs.”

The superstar in the making replaced Lauren Alaina, who initially sings on the track. Without any hesitation, Taya took on the challenge to stand before thousands of screaming fans. Kane Brown and his full-fledged band backed up her adolescent pipes.

Taya’s mother ran to Instagram to share the heartwarming video of her daughter dominating the catwalk. Within the adorable clip, you see Brown whisper in her ear, “you ready?” Before she showcased her vocals, Brown carefully explained how they would tackle the duet together. “There’s a long intro before the song starts, where we usually get pretty hype.”

Without skipping a beat, the six-year-old harmonized with Brown and took over Alaina’s dynamic verses. Taya’s performance did not come as a surprise to her mother and Brown, as she flexed her talents to Alaina at only three-years-old back in 2018 in the “Getting Over Him” singer’s greenroom.

“Wow! What a night in Bismarck! @Coleswindell was amazing as always! @laurenalaina made Taya a very happy girl! 💕 💕 She’s even more obsessed now than she was before #loveyoutoolate #reasontodrink #colelswindell #downhomecrew #laurenalaina #three #countrymusic #ladiesinthe90s,” says mother, Cherisse on Instagram under a video of her daughter sitting on Alaina’s lap singing the fan-favorite hit.

“She’s not shy,” says Lauren as she listened to Taya’s take on “What Ifs.” After Taya finished singing, the powerhouse vocalist began to think out loud, “Is this how I was?” she asked the people in the room.

Brown has a jam-packed few months ahead, as he is gearing up to embark on his 35-date Blessed & Free Tour. The hitmaker will hold his first performance on October 1 in Sacramento, California, and wrap up life on the road on February 4, 2022, in Las Vegas. Brown has asked his “Famous Friends” – Jordan DavisChase Rice, and Restless Road to bring back live music to eager country fans.
