Jon Voight is singing his praises for his daughter and granddaughter.

Earlier this month, Angelina Jolie and daughter Vivienne Jolie-Pitt became Tony winners after The Outsiders won Best Musical at the 2024 Tony AwardsAngelina, 49, was a producer on the musical while Vivienne, 15, served as a production assistant.

Following their wins, Jon, 85, gushed over how “proud” he is of his daughter and granddaughter.

“I’m very proud of Vivienne,” Jon told TMZ. “I’m really proud of Angie because she really tries to encourage each of the kids to be what they want to be.”

Jon also recalled Angelina telling him that she was going to produce the Broadway version of the musical, which Vivienne introduced her to.

“It’s amazing. It’s interesting because I just worked with Francis [Ford] Coppola on Megalopolis,” Jon recalled. “During the filming of Megalopolis, I got a call from Angie and she said, ‘I’m doing Outsiders.’”

He continued, “Vivienne read the book and then went down to see this pre-Broadway version close to San Diego. She went down four times and said, ‘Mom, you’ve got to see this.’ Angie was very interested. It showed something of Vivienne she’d never seen before.”

Jon also said that he believes that Vivienne could make a career out of producing.

“The directors of this piece said she had talent,” Jon said. “She has an eye for something.”
