As the cost of living continues to pinch, money-saving hacks are all the rage.

Many would perhaps scoff at the idea of royals needing to watch the purse strings – but that doesn’t stop them from occasionally being a bit more frugal.

One apparent advocate of the approach is Princess Kate – who has demonstrated several ways everyone can save a bit of cash.

Jason Higgs, a financial expert and the senior deals strategist at Bountii, analyses the royal strategies that can help you stretch your budget and manage your finances in today’s tough economy.

Rewearing Outfits

Kate Middleton has embraced the practice of re-wearing outfits, with Kate mixing and matching previously worn clothes to create new looks.

Jason said: “Rewearing outfits is a practical strategy for managing clothing expenses and minimising waste.”

Savvy home decor

Ikea is a retailer renowned for its affordable home furnishings – and perhaps surprisingly for some Princess Kate is a fan.

Prince George and Princess Charlotte have previously had Ikea furniture in their bedrooms.

Jason said: “Opting for budget-friendly home decor can help you save money without compromising.”

Discount store delight

Kate also has been spotted at discount stores including at The Range.

She was once spotted buying items just days before Christmas in 2018 at a place nobody would have guessed – at a branch of the discount store close to the King’s Sandringham estate

“Shopping at discount stores can help you find fantastic deals and save a lot of money,” Jason notes.
