UFC star Conor McGregor is facing a rape lawsuit from Nikita Hand, a woman who claims she had a terrifying night at the Beacon Hotel in Dublin.
Conor McGregor, the UFC star known as “The Madman”, is facing a civil lawsuit in the High Court of Dublin, Ireland, over an alleged rape by a woman named Nikita Hand.
According to Hand, the incident took place on 9 February 2018 in the penthouse of the Beacon Hotel in Dublin. She recounted the horrifying details during her trial, describing a night of terror where she thought she had “no chance of surviving”.
‘Unable to breathe’ and a haunting nightmare
Nikita described the attack, saying McGregor “strangled me three times” and that she could not move or breathe. “I just froze, I couldn’t move, I couldn’t breathe. I looked at the bed and I thought about my daughter and wondered if I was going to die and never see her again,” Hand told the court. She added that when she was strangled for the third time, it felt like “it was the end”.
Hand was interviewed by Irish police twice in 2019. However, in mid-2020, the Department of Public Prosecutions (DPP) decided not to prosecute McGregor due to “lack of convincing evidence”. This left her extremely depressed and disappointed, even sending a letter calling on the DPP to reconsider the decision.
Hand’s reaction and what happened next
When recounting what happened that fateful night, Hand said she tried to bite McGregor while he was holding her down. After McGregor let go, she even apologized and promised not to tell anyone in order to survive. After the incident, Hand asked her friend to take a picture of the bruises, but then asked to delete them because she was too scared.
During the trial, McGregor’s attorney cited text messages between Hand and her friend, in which Hand said she would not call the police and that she felt lucky to be alive.
The defense also mentioned that Hand had been drinking heavily and using cocaine on the night of the incident, as she herself had said during her first encounter with police.
Now, the case continues with more shocking details, as Nikita Hand continues to give further testimony about the haunting nightmare and its devastating impact on her life.
