Rihanna, the global music sensation and fashion mogul, recently made headlines with her decision to appoint Hillary Super, former CEO of Anthropologie Group, as her successor starting from June 26. Despite stepping down as CEO, Rihanna will continue to lead the brand as the Executive Chairman.

According to Vogue Business, Hillary Super, renowned for her leadership at Anthropologie Group, will soon oversee the Savage X Fenty brand. Rihanna expressed her enthusiasm, stating, “Savage X Fenty has had a powerful impact on the fashion industry over the past decade. This is just the beginning for us. The company will continue to expand its business in various ways, with a primary focus on always connecting with consumers. I am very grateful and excited to welcome Hillary Super as the new CEO—a passionate leader dedicated to taking the business to new heights.”

Hillary Super brings a wealth of experience to the leading lingerie brand. Apart from her four-year tenure as CEO at Anthropologie Group, she has held leadership positions at prominent retailers such as American Eagle, Guess, Gap, and Old Navy. In 2017, Super was honored on Forbes’ “40 Women to Watch Over 40” list for her contributions to breaking fashion stereotypes.

Commenting on her new role, Hillary stated, “I am thrilled to join the Savage X Fenty family. This brand is a major force in the lingerie and apparel industry. We are committed to always celebrating inclusivity and inspiring women everywhere.”

Sources reveal that the reason for transitioning from CEO to Executive Chairman is Rihanna’s desire to balance her business endeavors with motherhood. Recently, she purchased a $21 million penthouse atop a luxurious skyscraper in California before giving birth to her second child with rapper A$AP Rocky. Meanwhile, she had welcomed her first son in May 2022. Rihanna had previously shared in an interview that she believed achieving a perfect work-life balance was nearly impossible due to the inherent challenges of juggling professional responsibilities and family life.

Rihanna stated, “Everything for me is different now. Balance is almost unattainable, because no matter how hard you try to balance, the fact is that work will always require you to sacrifice time for your children and family. Balancing work and family simultaneously will always feel like a heavy, pressure-filled task.”

In addition to her business ventures, Rihanna has shown signs of returning to her music career after several years of relative silence. Her performance at the Super Bowl’s Halftime Show was eagerly anticipated as a marker of her musical comeback. Rihanna had hinted to her fans on social media that new music was on the horizon, though she hadn’t confirmed a specific timeline. Since 2016, Rihanna hadn’t released a new album or embarked on a tour.
