It Was Jennifer Garner’s Idea To Spend Christmas With Ben Affleck — For THIS Reason!
Leave it to Jennifer Garner to make sure things are juuuust so on Christmas — no matter the complicated blended family situation that she and her children may be facing!
As we’ve been reporting over the last few days, her ex-husband Ben Affleck had himself quite the Christmas. For one, the Argo star exchanged gifts with his other ex, Jennifer Lopez, thereby proving the duo is still on surprisingly good terms even amid their difficult and very public slow-motion split that carried for months across 2024! But more notable for our purposes here was the very friendly and festive Christmas interaction Ben had with the other Jen in his life!
On Monday, a source confirmed to People that the 52-year-old actor and his 52-year-old Alias alum ex-wife did indeed spend Christmas together like we’d noted a few days back. But here’s the new part of the mag’s Monday confirmation: the joint holiday came about specifically so that both A-listers could be there for the three kids they co-parent as exes — Violet, 19, Finn, 15, and Samuel, 12. An insider explained:
“Jen and Ben were all together for Christmas. It’s all for the kids.”
The reasoning behind the joint holiday celebration push was simple, too: it all came down to Jen! According to the insider, the West Virginia native was keen on putting ages-old breakup dramz aside specifically so that the former couple’s kids could enjoy the spirit of the season as it’s meant to be felt:
“Jen grew up surrounded by her family for the holidays, and she wants the same for her kids.”
Obviously, Garner and Affleck have been down a very long road together. That includes a decade of marriage and years spent raising those three aforementioned kiddos prior to their 2015 split. And in more recent months, they’ve again been spending quite a bit of time together as Ben navigates life after his difficult split from J.Lo, too.
Above all, we’re happy the pair can co-exist (and co-parent!) so amicably. That’s the biggest part of this, especially considering they’ve got three amazing young ones to raise in a happy, healthy state. So, good on them for that!
