The truth behind Justin and Hailey Bieber’s baby joy: Insiders reveal why couple decided to get pregnant NOW – and how impending fatherhood has already impacted Sorry singer’s music

Justin and Hailey Bieber decided now was the time to start a family after being blighted by shock health diagnoses in recent years, prompting fears they could miss out on watching their children grow old, insiders have claimed.

 

The couple, who have been married since September 2018, surprised fans on Thursday when they shared pictures of themselves cradling Hailey’s pregnancy bump during a secret vow renewal in Hawaii.

The joyous news is believed to have been spurred by their individual bouts of ill health – and has even inspired Justin, 30, to write new music for his wife, 27, and their unborn child.

‘With both of them having various health struggles, they decided now, as opposed to trying a little later, would be the best time to have children,’ an insider told DailyMail.com exclusively.

‘They are still young and will be able to enjoy being parents. As they grow old, they can watch their kids grow old too.’

 

 

The celebrity couple, who have faced persistent rumors their marriage is on the rocks, announced the news with a video in which Hailey debuted her bump in a custom Saint Laurent lace wedding dress by Anthony Vaccarello, paired with a flowing veil.

Justin – who was casually clad in a backwards cap, bomber jacket and jeans – was seen filming his bride cradling her stomach – with the video set to a new track by the Grammy winner.

The insider continued: ‘Justin has been motivated by Hailey’s pregnancy and has been writing songs for her and their unborn child, but he will not be in any rush to go out and tour, at least not for a very long time, if ever.

 

‘He has enough money to do whatever he wants and he just wants to be a dad. He’s done it all, so he is no rush to tour or anything.’

Their pregnancy news comes two years after Hailey was rushed to hospital in ‘one of the scariest moments’ of her life.

The model and businesswoman suffered a Transient Ischemic Attack (TIA) or ‘mini stroke’ in March 2022 while at breakfast with Justin.

Tests later revealed she had Patent foramen ovale (PFO) – a hole between the left and right atria (upper chambers) of the heart – which caused a blood clot. She later underwent a procedure to close it.

Hailey, who also has perioral dermatitis and a history of migraines, talked openly about the terrifying experience in a TikTok video, telling fans she felt a ‘weird sensation’ in her right arm, before her face drooped and she started struggling to speak.

She later revealed she was struggling with PTSD – Post Traumatic Stress Disorder – telling the Run-Through With Vogue podcast: ‘I struggled with a lot of anxiety after. I struggled with a little bit of PTSD of just like the fear of maybe it was gonna happen again.’

Months after Hailey’s stroke, her husband Justin faced his own health battle, suffering facial paralysis as a result of Ramsay Hunt Syndrome.

The Canadian superstar, who also has Lyme Disease, asked fans to ‘pray’ for him after revealing the rare neurological condition was making it ‘progressively harder to eat.’

In a video he struggled to move the right side of his face, or blink his right eye as he showed fans the devastating effects of the syndrome, which occurs when a shingles outbreak affects the facial nerve near the ears.

He sparked concern last month after he posted a number of selfies in tears, but insiders late told DailyMail.com that he was overcome with emotion after praying.

Hailey’s dad Stephen Baldwin reignited health fears back in February when he reposted an Instagram video from Victor Marx, founder of All Things Possible Ministries, in which he asked for people to pray for Justin and Hailey.

Alongside a video of Justin playing guitar, he wrote: ‘Christians, please when you think of Justin & Hailey, take a moment to offer a little prayer for them to have wisdom, protection and to draw close to the Lord.

‘There are special challenges that folks in high visibility positions face and also the enemy doesn’t want them to draw closer to Jesus.’

He added he and his wife along with Hailey’s mother ‘often pray together’ for the couple.

Hailey is said to have had a healthy pregnancy so far, with some reports claiming she is already around six months.

‘It has gone as great as one would hope,’ the insider said. ‘She is looking forward to that to continue.

‘They are hoping for a girl but will be equally happy with a boy and this is not going to be their last kid.’

News of their pregnancy prompted an avalanche of well wishes from celebrity pals including Kim Kardashian, Chrissy Teigen and Paris Hilton.

Justin’s mother Pattie Mallette, 49, also celebrated on Instagram, writing: ‘BABY BIEBER IS ON THE WAY!! I’m gonna be a GRANDMA!!’

Hailey and Justin were introduced by her father in 2009. He was in a highly-publicized on-off romance with Selena Gomez from 2011 until 2014 before reuniting for a short while in 2017. In that time he enjoyed a brief romance with Hailey.

Justin and Selena split for good in 2018, months before Justin reignited with Hailey and the pair got engaged during a romantic getaway to the Bahamas.

They marked their fifth wedding anniversary last September with Instagram tributes to one another, with Hailey writing a short but poignant messaging which read: ‘5. I love you.’
