Wimbledon this year will be unforgettable, not only because of Kate Middleton’s long-awaited appearance, but also for her mother-daughter day with Princess Charlotte, who wore a look that may have paid homage to her mom.

In case you missed it, Kate and Charlotte arrived on day fourteen of the Wimbledon Tennis Championships, specifically for the men’s final, at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club on July 14, 2024. You can see the photos of the mother-daughter duo below:

Now, in the photos, we see Kate in a bold purple Safiyaa London Cecilia dress, but Charlotte is wearing something that fans are convinced is an homage to her mother, and her return to Wimbledon.

Charlotte was seen wearing a navy polka-dotted dress. Now, as many Kate style fans know, Kate often wears polka-dots for Wimbledon, and Charlotte’s 2024 look is insanely similar to two of Kate’s past Wimbledon looks. It looks just like the navy Polka Dot Alessandra Rich Dress Kate wore in 2022, and the navy polka-dotted Alessandra Rich skirt she donned the year prior.

We love this sweet fashion moment, and it just shows they’re such a fashionable mother-daughter duo.

For those who don’t know, William and Kate have been together on and off since 2003. Since their nuptials, they have since welcomed three children named George, born on July 22, 2013, Charlotte, born on May 2, 2015, and Louis, born on April 23, 2018.

In a previous podcast episode of Happy Mum, Happy Baby, hosted by Giovanna Fletcher, via Town and Country, Kate talked about how she incorporates her family traditions into her parenting.

“I had an amazing Granny who devoted a lot of time to us—playing with us, doing arts and crafts, and going to the greenhouse to do gardening, and cooking with us—and I try and incorporate a lot of the experiences that she gave us at the time into the experiences that I give my children now,” she said.
