Speculation surrounding a feud between Hailey Bieber and Selena Gomez has resurfaced after the former shared a seemingly relevant song by Beyoncé on her Instagram Story last week. Queen Bey, as fans know, recently released a cover of Dolly Parton‘s 1973 hit, “Jolene,” which many continue to rave about online.

Hailey, 27, was no different, sharing a screenshot of the Cowboy Carter track (that has lyrical themes of betrayal and stealing) on her Instagram Storycommenting, “whew.”

Fans Think Hailey Bieber’s New ‘Jolene’ Post Is Connected To Justin Bieber’s Ex, Selena Gomez

Fans of Selena quickly interpreted the model’s post as a slight towards the “Love On” singer, 31, who was previously in a relationship with Justin Bieber, before Hailey.

This has fueled the ongoing narrative of a love triangle between the three individuals, with the Rhode mogul often being accused of mimicking the Rare Beauty founder’s actions, such as pursuing Justin, 30, shortly after his final breakup with his on-again, off-again girlfriend, Selena. Hailey and the “Peaches” hitmaker tied the knot in 2018.

In an effort to quash any lingering feud rumors with Hailey, the Only Murders in the Building star implored her Instagram followers to refrain from attacking the Vogue cover girl on social media last year.

Hailey expressed gratitude towards Selena for speaking out on the matter, admitting that the cyberbullying she endured from many of Gomez’s “fans” was emotionally taxing.

Despite this, fans on X (formerly Twitter) continued to stoke the flames of drama this week. Online rumors suggested that Hailey’s recent post indicated she was envious and fixated on Selena – an interpretation that may be a bit of a stretch.

However, others claimed that all she did was express her fondness for Beyoncé’s highly anticipated Dolly Parton cover.

“Hailey Bieber shows her insecurity with sharing Beyoncé’s version of ‘Jolene,'” one fan recently tweeted as another replied: “Or she just liked the song like everyone else in the world.” One other added: “again initiating the drama and we’re supposed to believe she’s the victim pls,” as someone else disagreed, writing: “Or she… liked Beyoncé’s cover of a super famous song.”

Ultimately, many fans it seems, are divided when it comes to Hailey’s intentions of posting Beyoncé’s “Jolene” for her 51.1 million followers.
