Justin Bieber shared a health update with his 241 million Instagram followers last week and explained in a video that he was recently diagnosed with Ramsay Hunt Syndrome. The Grammy winner, 28, showed fans that half of his face had become paralyzed and noted in the days since that he will be cancelling multiple concerts and dates from his 2022 Justice World Tour.

Over the past few days, Bieber revealed on social media that he will be postponing the following tour dates as he continues to rest, visit doctors, and seek further treatment: June 13th and 14th at Madison Square Garden in New York City. Over the weekend, the “Yummy” hitmaker also announced that these dates had been postponed as well: June 7th and 8th in Toronto, Canada and the June 10th show in Washington, DC.

In the video, Bieber said to viewers; “Hey everyone. Justin here. I wanted to update you guys on what’s been going on.” He continued, “Obviously, as you can probably see from my face, I have this syndrome called Ramsay Hunt syndrome and it is from this virus that attacks the nerve in my ear and my facial nerves and has caused my face to have paralysis.” Bieber then gave fans a closer look at his symptoms. “As you can see, this eye is not blinking,” he continued before winking his other eye. “I can’t smile with this side of my face, this nostril will not move, so there is full paralysis in this side of my face.”

The “Peaches” singer then spoke to those who might feel “frustrated” about the postponement of his upcoming and long-awaited performances. “I’m just physically, obviously not capable of doing them,” he said. “This is pretty serious as you can see. I wish this wasn’t the case but obviously, my body is telling me I got to slow down and I hope you guys understand and I’ll be using this time to rest and relax and get back to 100% so that I can do what I was born to do.”

Bieber then tried to smile before adding, “But in the meantime, this isn’t it. I got to get my rest on so that I can get my face back to where it’s supposed to be.” He thanked his fans for their support and well wishes before concluding his message. “I’m gonna to get better and I’m doing all these facial exercises to get my face back to normal and it will go back to normal, it’s just time,” he said. “We don’t know how much time it’s gonna be but it’s gonna be ok and I have hope and I trust God and I trust that this is all gonna, it’s all for a reason and I’m not sure what that is right now but in the meantime, I’m gonna rest. I love you guys, peace.”

Soon after, Bieber shared on his Instagram story that his “sickness is getting worse.” He wrote, before adding the string of postponed tour dates, “My heart breaks that I will have to postpone these next few shows (doctors orders).” Fans, of course, have headed to his Instagram comment section to wish him a fast and comfortable recovery. “We’ll always support you,” wrote one user as another added, “Take as much time as you need and please rest, Justin!” Bieber’s famous friends also left loving words on his IG post, with Diane Keaton and Lenny Kravitz leaving heart and prayer emojis. Khloe Kardashian added, “We are praying for you! We love you!!! Rest up! Everyone understands.” Justin Timberlake wrote, “Love you, bro. Prayers up and sending lots of healing vibes!” and Shawn Mendes sweetly sent, “love you so much. I admire you so much.”

Bieber’s wife, Hailey, also showed support for the musician on her Instagram story, sharing his video and writing to him that she loves him. However, it hasn’t been easy for Mrs. Bieber either. As a matter of fact, the 25-year-old model has had her own health struggle earlier this year. In March, she revealed that she suffered from a mini-stroke and ended up being hospitalized. Watch the YouTube video below to know more about her story.

Despite the challenges the couple has faced, an insider told People, “Between Hailey’s health scare earlier this year and now this, it’s a lot for them. Hailey is worried as well. Just like Justin did everything he could to take care of Hailey, she now does the same for him. They are a great team and will get through it together. Justin can’t wait to recover and continue working.”

In fact, in an exclusive cover story by People, a close friend of the couple shared that “Hailey has been so supportive of Justin, just like he supported her with her health issues.” The insider added, “They’re unbreakable.” Admittedly, the source also told the outlet, “It’s been rough. There is nothing he (Bieber) can do to speed up the recovery, so he just has to be patient. He is supposed to take his medications, rest and eat nutritious food.”

Hailey recently updated fans on Good Morning America and mentioned that despite the virus, her husband has been well on his way to recovery. “He’s doing really well. He is getting better every single day. He’s feeling a lot better and, obviously, it was just a very scary and random situation to happen, but he’s going to be totally okay, and I’m just grateful that he’s fine.”

We wish nothing but love and good health, Justin and Hailey!
