Prince William and Kate Middleton’s eldest son Prince George is now 11 and attention has turned to which school he may attend in the future once he has finished his studies at Lambrook
The Princess of Wales could break a major royal tradition and make a historic future move for eldest son Prince George.
With the second-in-line to the throne now 11, attention has turned to which school he may attend in the future during his teenage years. He currently attends co-ed Lambrook School near the Wales family home in Windsor with his siblings Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis. But it is currently unknown exactly which school he will go to after this as Lambrook only educates pupils up to the age of 13. Many have predicted he will go to Eton College, which would see him follow in the footsteps of his dad Prince William and uncle Prince Harry. The Prince and Princess of Wales were spotted in June touring the campus with their eldest son.

However, another potential school has been thrown into the mix for the young prince, Kate’s alma mater Marlborough College. According to the Daily Mail’s Richard Eden, the princess was seen paying a visit to her former school, leading to speculation it could be considered for George. And if George ends up enrolled at Marlborough, it would see him become the first future King to complete his compulsory education in all co-ed establishments, as Marlborough admits both girls and boys. It was only recently that royals attended formal schools, for example, the late Queen was educated at home, as were other monarchs before her.
King Charles did attend school, first the all-boys Hill House School, Cheam School – which at the time was all boys – and Gordonstoun, another all-boys institution. Prince William first went to Wetherby School before Ludgrove School and Eton College, which are all boys establishments. So far George has attended Thomas’s Battersea, which is for boys and girls as well as his current co-ed school Lambrook. Currently, George and his siblings are enjoying the last days of their summer break. It’s unknown exactly what the Wales’ have been up to during the holiday time – but it could be that future King George used it as study time.
