On May 6th, King Charles celebrated the one-year anniversary of his coronation. But it hasn’t been smooth sailing for the monarch, as he has had many things to deal with in the space of one year.

Not only has he had to deal with his own cancer battle, as well as daughter-in-law Kate Middleton‘s cancer battle, but he has also been burdened by his disgraced younger brother Prince Andrew, as well as estranged son Prince Harry and daughter-in-law Meghan Markle.

Prince Harry And Meghan Markle Accused Of Ruining King Charles’ First Year On The Throne

Royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams told The Sun that he believes the Duke and Duchess of Sussex “ruined” King Charles’ first year on the throne by revealing royal family secrets in their Netflix docuseries, Harry and Meghan, and in Prince Harry’s bombshell memoir, Spare.

He went on to explain how things got worse after King Charles evicted the couple from Frogmore Cottage, which they reportedly thought “would always be there for them.” He hinted that perhaps they wouldn’t have been evicted if they didn’t spill as many royal family secrets as they did…

“The facts simply are with Harry and Meghan that after Spare, enough was enough, so he had them evicted from Frogmore Cottage, and I don’t think they expected it,” he revealed, adding: “And they certainly didn’t like it. But the revelations in Spare, and not only the attacks on the royal family in that book and in the interviews surrounding it, which large numbers of people watched, of course, that Harry was responsible for, and it was his memoir.”

Royal Expert Isn’t Surprised King Charles Evicted Harry And Meghan From Frogmore Cottage

Fitzwilliams went on to explain how badly Prince Harry’s memoir affected King Charles’ first year on the throne, adding that he was not surprised that the King decided to evict his son and daughter-in-law from their official U.K. residence. “It was absolutely right to have done it,” Fitzwilliams said.

Spare was so badly planned, you felt that he’d not had advice, but to attack Queen Camilla was clearly a red line, as was pointed out by the press that he’s so hostile to. Therefore, it was important that the King acted as he did,” he explained. Fitzwilliams added: “There’s no doubt that evicting the Sussexes from their domicile in the U.K. was something that showed immense royal displeasure.”

Fitzwilliams then went on to talk about how the Duke and Duchess of Sussex continue to make money through their royal connections, despite stepping down as senior royals in 2020 and despite feuding with many members of the royal family.

“The Sussexes monetize their connections with the royal family,” he claimed. “They will forever, it seems, be in the news and precisely how they behave and what they decide to do [is] a matter for them obviously.”
