Reese Witherspoon Joins Kenny Chesney for Johnny Cash’s ‘Jackson’

Reese Witherspoon made country headlines last weekend when she visited her southern roots for a duet with Kenny Chesney. The actress jumped on stage to sing a Johnny Cash song with the singer during a charity event in New Orleans.

The two sang ‘Jackson’ and it was a blast from the past. Witherspoon is very familiar with the song since she played June Carter Cash in the 2005 film ‘Walk the Line’ with Joaquin Phoenix. Witherspoon even won an Oscar for a role that required she show off her vocal skills.

The crowd got to see the two sing together while they raised money for Drew Brees and Matthew McConaughey’s charities, the Dream Foundation and the Just Keep Livin’ Foundation. They performed the song acoustic to an enthusiastic crowd who seemed to love WItherspoon’s small part in the song with Chesney. Chesney donned a backwards ball cap as they shared one mic and lots of smiles.

The blonde actress used her Instagram account to share a photo of the two mid-duet. “Singing with Kenny C #NOLA #amazing night #jkl,” she captioned the black and white photo.
