KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – While plenty of Kansas City Chiefs players and coaches showed up to Thursday night’s ring ceremony at the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art accompanied by a significant other, tight end Travis Kelce showed up unaccompanied.

He had an excuse — as his pop star girlfriend Taylor Swift performed in Liverpool, England, Thursday night for the first of three consecutive shows at Anfield Stadium.

Kelce, who showed up in an all-red suit, celebrated his third Super Bowl championship with the rest of the 2023 Chiefs team.

After her show concluded, Swift hopped on Instagram and joined Chiefs wide receiver Mecole Hardman’s girlfriend Chariah Gordon’s Instagram Live, commenting throughout the night.

“JOINING THE PARTY FROM LIVERPOOL LETS GOOOOOOOO,” Swift said.

Hardman was the Super Bowl LVIII hero, catching a game-winning 3-yard touchdown pass in overtime to help the Chiefs defeat the San Francisco 49ers, 25-22.

At one point, Swift expressed excitement about Hardman’s decision to re-sign with Kansas City this offseason.

“AND WE GET ANOTHER YEAR OF MECOLE (crown emoji),” Swift commented.

The ceremony in Kansas City wrapped up with the Chiefs players opening their Las Vegas-themed ring boxes shortly before 10 p.m. — which was 4 a.m. in Liverpool, as Swift noted.

“Gotta go to sleep it’s so late here love you guys,” Swift said with three heart emojis.
