As Princess Kate waved goodbye to singledom before marrying Prince William in 2011, she celebrated with friends on her hen do, where she impersonated Cheryl Cole, a new royal book claims

Just like any other regular wife-to-be, Princess Kate had a raucous hen do to signal the end of her single life.
While Kate, 42, is famed for her effortlessly chic looks, she was able to let her hair down and party with her closest circle of friends away on the bachelorette weekend, and even went as far as to impersonate a pop star. The princess vowed to ‘Fight For This Love’ when she dressed up and performed as Cheryl Cole.
Kate sported a military-themed outfit in a homage to the Girls Aloud star as she said goodbye to singledom and prepared to tie the knot with Prince William. Then 29, glammed-up Kate was decked out in a figure-hugging bodysuit, a pair of split trousers, and a peaked hat to imitate Cheryl’s signature get-up, according to royal expert Robert Jobson.

In an extract serialised in the Daily Mail, in his new explosive book Catherine, The Princess of Wales: The Biography, the author writes: “For her bachelorette party night at a friend’s house, she donned a figure-hugging bodysuit and did a step-perfect impersonation of pop star Cheryl Cole singing her 2009 hit Fight For This Love.
“It’s an exuberant side to Catherine that William has always adored.” What’s more, is that Wills thought Kate gave Cheryl a run for her money. Backstage at the late Queen Elizabeth II’s Diamond Jubilee concert, cheeky William asked Chez, 41: “Did you know you’ve got a bit of competition?”
He and Kate then began giggling as the future Queen admitted performing Cheryl’s No.1 track. “She even learned the dance routine and was step-perfect by all accounts,” revealed Cheryl. “I could just imagine her and it was so surreal.”
Kate’s sister Pippa also commended her moves during the bash at the home of a close friend, which took place on the same weekend as Wills’ stag. Just a few pals attended Kate’s low-key do, including Holly Branson and Olivia Bleasdale.

The couple tied the knot on April 29, 2011, at Westminster Abbey, in a day filled with pomp watched by millions across the world. Their engagement came after some turbulence in the formative years of their romance.
After becoming an item as students at St Andrew’s University, they briefly split in 2007, with William reportedly ‘having second thoughts’. They later reconciled after realising their ‘undeniable’ chemistry at a mutual friend’s party, author Jobson writes.
Three years after parting ways in 2011, it was revealed that William and Kate were engaged, with the bride-to-be given the late Princess Diana’s engagement ring. In an interview to mark their engagement, they shared their feelings about the split.
Kate admitted: “At the time, I wasn’t very happy about it, but it made me a stronger person. You find out things about yourself that maybe you hadn’t realised.
“I think you can get quite consumed by a relationship when you’re younger. I really valued that time for me as well, although I didn’t think it at the time.” While William said: “We were both very young… we were both finding ourselves and being different characters. It was very much trying to find our own way and we were growing up, so it was just a bit of space and it worked out for the better.”
