Minnesota Vikings defensive backs Camryn Bynum and Josh Metellus hit the ‘Parent Trap’ celebration from the iconic Lindsay Lohan film in which she comes to the UK, after they intercepted Aaron Rodgers
Minnesota Vikings safety duo Camryn Bynum and Josh Metellus perfectly executed the handshake celebration that Lindsay Lohan made famous in the 1998 Disney classic ‘Parent Trap’.
After intercepting an Aaron Rodgers pass in the Vikings game against the New York Jets in London, Bynum celebrated in his endzone as he was joined by his safety partner Metellus. The two then hit the celebration as teammates watched on, immediately going viral.
The Vikings hit the iconic Parent Trap handshake
The iconic handshake originally features Lohan, as she plays two identical twins separated at birth – one growing up in London and the other in California.
At the beginning of the film, the two just so happen to meet at a camp in the United States – realizing that they’re in fact twins and are yet to meet one of their parents. They decide to switch places, with the British character traveling to California and visa-versa. Once the American character lands in London, she hits a handshake with their butler – one which she had taught her sister to fool the family and hide her true identity.
Bynum and Metellus had clearly planned the routine, hitting it perfectly with fans reacting across social media.
One said: “This will never be beaten. This is legendary,” as another said: “I love a classic. It’s nice that the movie gets such a nod,” while a third wrote: “Absolute scenes with the Parent Trap celebration after that pick”.
Bynum had the ball thrown right to him by Rodgers’ wayward pass
The Vikings defense have had much to celebrate all season, shutting down offenses each week through the season while putting in another sensational showing against Aaron Rodgers.
As well as Bynum’s interception, linebacker Andrew Van Ginkel picked Rodgers off and returned it for a touchdown for just the legendary quarterback’s fifth pick-six of his career.
The Vikings remain undefeated through the first four weeks of the season with impressive wins over the San Francisco 49ers, Houston Texans, Green Bay Packers and New York Giants.
