Prince Harry looked without a care in the world as he and wife Meghan Markle wound down their tour of Colombia with salsa dancing in the city of Cali.

The tour, which saw the couple visit schools and cultural landmarks, culminated in the Duchess of Sussex delivering a speech in Spanish, in which she spoke of the need to empower young girls.

Yet behind the smiles, all may not be as well as it seems, as friends of the prince claimed in the Sunday Times that Harry is “angry” and “frustrated” with the situation that he now finds himself in.

One, who claims to receive infrequent messages from him, said: “He’s an angry boy. Things haven’t turned out how he wanted.

“I think he misses being in Britain desperately and wants to be admired more. Anyone who knows him feels he’d rather be top of the pops here with everyone loving him, as they do with William and Kate.”

The source claimed that Harry misses his former way of life where he was famously fond of the English countryside and British pubs.

They said: “He has ended up isolated from his family and most of his old mates, in an environment where your friendships are not like the ones you forged as a young man.

“He used to love a night out in the pub and hanging out in the country with friends.”

The claims come as the reported rift between Harry and his brother Prince William shows no signs of abating with reports suggesting that the future King would not want his brother present at his coronation.

The decision by the Duke of Sussex to step away from being a working member of the Royal Family has often been cited as one of the factors behind the fall out and has led to the Duke having his security detail downgraded by the Home Office.

Prince Harry lost his legal challenge against the decision in February but intends to appeal the decision according to his legal team.

The decision led to Harry claiming that he did not feel that the UK was a safe place for his family and that he would not bring them to the country until his concerns were addressed.

A tour of Colombia, a nation once synonymous with crime thanks to the countries control of the global cocaine trade in the eighties and nineties, has led to criticism over perceived hypocrisy by some.

One Royal commentator claimed that it was laughable that Prince Harry felt comfortable taking his wife to a country synonymous with organised crime whilst claiming to not feel safe in London.
