Alonso was left fuming over an incident in qualifying and later slammed the race organisers.

His complaint was over the FIA issuing a red flag after Sergio Perez crashed at turn six – which was the second red flag of the session.

Alonso, 42, was carrying out a hot lap at the time so was called to a halt, much to his frustration.

The Spaniard still achieved seventh place on the grid but bemoaned the “mistakes” made by the FIA.
