Lennox Lewis is keen to duke it out with Jake Paul once his upcoming clash with Mike Tyson is done and dusted.

The former undisputed heavyweight champion retired from boxing in 2003 having beaten every man he ever faced.

He walked away from the sport following a stoppage victory over next-generation star Vitali Klitschko.

However, he has always kept the door open for a possible return to the ring.

As his former foe Tyson gears up to face Paul in a money-spinning crossover contest at the back end of the year, Lewis is also open to the idea of coming back and proving he’s still got it against ‘The Problem Child’.

Asked if he would face the winner, Lewis told Fox 29 Philadelphia: “That’s a good question. I hope that Tyson saves a little bit of Jake Paul for me.”

Paul and Tyson were initially scheduled to face each other in a controversial professional heavyweight bout on July 20.

But their fight has since been pushed back to November 15 after Tyson, 57, was deemed medically unfit to compete on the original date due to an ulcer flare-up he suffered on a flight to Los Angeles.

Despite the staggering 31-year age gap between the pair, Lewis is backing Tyson to get the job done over Paul, whom he insists is ‘not a true fighter’.

“Mike Tyson’s gonna win. Mike Tyson’s not that old. Don’t take him too softly. We’re one year apart.

“You can fight somebody like that and do well because the person you’re fighting is not a true fighter and there’s a hundred things that you’ve forgotten that he’s learning.

“[The age] will be a little bit of a determining factor if the fight goes on too long, but if they get close and Mike Tyson comes with his ten-second combination, if one of those punches catches him he’s definitely gonna go down.”

Lewis knows all too what it is like to share the ring with Tyson.

‘The Lion’ defended his WBC and IBF heavyweight straps against ‘Iron Mike’ in 2002 in what would be Tyson’s final world title fight.

Tyson got off to a decent start but by round four Lewis had gotten into his groove and began piecing up the American with his jab and right uppercut.

In round eight, Tyson touched down after eating a left uppercut and was then flatlined moments later by a crisp right straight.

Lewis was awarded the Ring Magazine Knockout of the Year for 2022 and fought once more before hanging up his gloves.

Meanwhile, Tyson fought on for three more years but was unable to produce anything near to the type of form that made him one of the most devastating fighters of his era.
