But despite gracing the cover of Vogue magazine and fronting a Balenciaga campaign, the 31-year-old admits that she still has trouble finding designer ensembles to fit her incredible curves.
Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, the Bongos hitmaker said that she and her stylist Kollin Carter face ‘so many obstacles’ to achieve her iconic red carpet looks.
‘This body is not meant for a size 2. I’m very hips, a**, and that’s me. It was not easy, but we make it look easy,’ she explained.
‘Our door was closed many times … but we’re here because we do it well. I’m not going to be humble about it.’

Her stylist Kollin backed the rapper up, saying, ‘I don’t think there were many women like Cardi who existed in the fashion space.’
He added, ‘Now there are a ton of other rap females who aspire to be in that space because they see what’s possible. We set trends.’
Cardi regularly makes it on best dressed lists and has covered multiple editions of Vogue over the years, including Vogue US, Mexico, and Singapore.
She previously confessed to having four breast augmentations, liposuction, a rhinoplasty and illegal silicone butt injections that she’s almost removed entirely.
Cardi ramped up her fitness routine following the birth of her son Wave in 2021 and now works out for two hours a day.
She shares Wave and five-year-old daughter Kulture with her husband, rapper Offset, 31.
The chart topper had an operation last year to remove the biopolymers from her rear end.

‘In August I got surgery and I removed 95% of my biopolymers… if you don’t know what it is, it’s a** shots,’ she said on social media.
‘It was a really crazy process,’ she continued.
‘All I’m going to say is that if you’re young, if you’re 19, 20, 21, and sometimes you’re too skinny, and you be like: “OMG I don’t have enough fat to put in my a**” so you result to a** shots, DON’T!’ Cardi urged her fans on Instagram Live.
During her pre-fame days as a New York City stripper, she once had her derriere illegally injected with silicone in a basement.
Years ago she shared that she got the botched buttock augmentation partly because a man dumped her for a woman with ‘a fat, big a**.’

There was also a financial incentive for the procedure, as she noticed other strippers with larger behinds managing to out-earn her, she told GQ.
After she got her basement injections for $800 she wound up in such terrible pain ‘I felt like I was gonna pass out,’ on top of which the implants leaked for five days.
After her daughter was born Cardi had liposuction and a breast augmentation, only to swear off cosmetic surgery in 2019 after the recovery process from her various procedures forced her to cancel a string of concert appearances.
She reversed course shortly thereafter, procuring a nose job in 2020 and then having ‘my body done’ in 2021 after giving birth to Wave.
In 2022, the Bodak Yellow hitmaker appeared on The Jason Lee Show and once again claimed to be ‘done’ with plastic surgery.
