A worrying update on Mike Tyson’s health has been provided following the ‘medical emergency’ which postponed his fight against Jake Paul.
Paul vs, Tyson was postponed indefinitely last Friday amid the boxing legend’s medical scare on a flight from Miami to Los Angeles.
The 57-year-old suffered an ulcer flare and became nauseous and dizzy before being treated on the plane.
At the time of the medical incident, Tyson’s representatives said: “Thankfully Mr. Tyson is doing great. He became nauseous and dizzy due to an ulcer flare up 30 minutes before landing. He is appreciative to the medical staff that were there to help him.”
However, a few days later, the heavyweight showdown was postponed as Most Valuable Promotions issued a statement on social media.
There’s hope among the camps that Paul vs. Tyson can be rescheduled but fresh concerns have been raised, according to a report.
Following the fight cancellation on July 20, Tyson’s health is being monitored by the Texas Department of License and Regulation, who sanctioned the Arlington match-up as a pro bout.
Communications Manager Tela Mange informed World Boxing News of TDLR’s intentions following his medical incident.
But the report suggests doctors ‘may never clear’ ‘Iron’ Mike to compete with a stomach ulcer as one false move could cause a leak from his stomach to his abdominal wall.

If the condition is deemed unsafe following a series of tests, then physicians will tell the former world champion to hang up his gloves for good.
Mange said: “TDLR is aware of media reports regarding an episode involving Mr. Tyson.
“At present, Mr. Tyson and Mr. Paul have met the medical requirements for this event. Before the event, TDLR will conduct pre-fight physicals to ensure the health of both fighters.”
It’s claimed that should he be cleared to fight the YouTuber-turned-boxer, the clash may have to be downgraded to an exhibition.
Tyson last fought in a pro contest back in June 2005 when he suffered a defeat to Kevin McBride.
