NewsToday123 is an English-language news site built for the curious commuter: someone with a few minutes, a phone, and a real interest in what is happening in the world. Our tagline says it plainly. We aim to be fast, cheerful and modern, without ever being careless.
Our mission
We practice constructive journalism. That means we report problems honestly, and we also report what people are doing about them. We do not hide bad news, and we do not inflate good news. We try to give you the whole picture in a few clear paragraphs, with concrete detail instead of hype.
Our voice is warm, clear and optimistic but honest. We avoid clickbait, doom-scrolling headlines and breathless language. If a story is uncertain, we say so.
The 1-2-3 Digest
Every story on the site carries our signature format, the 1-2-3 Digest: three crisp takeaways placed up front. Read those three points and you have the essentials in about twenty seconds. If the story interests you, the full article follows with context, detail and an honest look at what is not yet known.
The format is a promise to your time. It is not a replacement for the story, and it never contains anything the article itself does not support.
What we cover
- Tech and AI: what new tools actually do, and what they do not.
- Energy and climate: projects, trade-offs and progress.
- Markets and money: explained plainly, never as personal financial advice.
- Cities and architecture: how places are changing.
- Food and culture, arts and music: the human side of the news.
- Health and life: explanation, not medical advice.
- World and sports: clear summaries of the day's developments.
How we make the morning brief
Our morning brief is assembled by editors, not by an automated feed. Reporters flag the stories most worth a commuter's attention, editors choose three, and each is trimmed to its essentials and checked against our fact-check standard. The audio version, the Morning Rundown, is narrated by a member of our team and follows the same three-story structure.
We use software tools to help with routine work such as transcription and formatting. Humans remain responsible for every word we publish. Our Editorial Standards page explains this in more detail.
A launch edition
NewsToday123 is in its launch edition. Some scenarios and examples in our stories are illustrative, and we try to say so where it matters. We are building the site in the open, and we expect to improve it with your feedback.
