NewsToday123 does not yet have an iOS or Android app. We are saying that first so there is no confusion: the apps are in development and are coming soon. We have no release date to announce, and we are not listing any app on a store until it is ready.
What the apps will do
We are designing the apps around the way people read on the move.
- Offline 1-2-3 Digests. Download the morning's digests before you leave home and read them on a train or plane with no signal.
- Audio rundown. Listen to the Morning Rundown, our short audio brief, with simple playback controls.
- Saved stories. Keep stories to read later, organized in one place.
- Calm notifications. A small number of alerts that you control, with no pressure to open the app.
These are plans, and the final feature set may change as we build and test.
What you can do today
The website is built to work well on a phone, and there are several ways to get the same experience now.
Add the site to your home screen
Both iOS and Android browsers let you add a website shortcut to your home screen. It opens like an app icon and takes you straight to the latest stories. Look for the share or menu option in your browser and choose the option to add to the home screen.
Save stories in the browser
You can save stories on this site for later. Saved stories are kept in your own browser on your own device, as described on our Privacy Policy page.
Use the newsletter
Our Daily Morning Mail brings three stories to your inbox at 7:00 AM, which is a good fit for reading on a phone. The Daily Morning Mail page has more detail.
Follow with RSS
If you use a feed reader on your phone, you can subscribe to our RSS feed and get new stories there.
Help us build it
We would like to hear what would make an app worth installing for you. Tell us which features matter most, which devices you use and what annoys you in other news apps. Write to [email protected].
A note on privacy
When the apps arrive, they will be covered by an updated privacy policy before release. We will not collect more than the apps need to work.
How we will announce launch
When an app is ready, we will announce it in the newsletter and in our RSS feed, and we will describe exactly which devices it supports. Until then, any app that claims to be NewsToday123 is not ours, so please be careful with unofficial downloads.
